Grandpa fell for a scam

Grampa fell for the scammers!!

My dad is a 79 year old widower.  Always there to help others.  Will give you the shirt off his back.  Two years ago, he lost my mom very suddenly.  He’s never quite been the same since.  His life revolved around her.

This past Thursday would have been their 50th wedding anniversary and was consumed with this for about a week before.

Two days before their fateful anniversary my dad got my dad got a call from a woman claiming to be his grand son’s girlfriend.  She said that she was in trouble with the law for drunk driving and needed bail money.  As the conversation went on my dad was falling for it.  He lives in a small town and they knew the name of the local lawyer etc... so it seemed like it was on the up and up.

He was told by the “bail bondsman” to leave $7500 in an envelope outside his apartment and he would go pick it up.  My father, being the man he is didn’t question as this was to help family.   That was every cent my dad had to his name.  He cleared his bank account out for this.

He never realized anything was wrong until today when he saw his son’s girlfriend and saw there was no car accident and she wasn’t sick (as said during the phone call).

Im raising money for my dad to get back on his feet.  He’s devastated.  The anniversary of his late wife’s death, compounded by the fact this is his whole savings.  Gone in one swoop.  Please help.  I need to show him there are a lot of people out there like him that will help a fellow man in need.

This is could happen to any senior.  Your parents.  Aunts.  Uncles.  Yourself.  They prey on the old.   It’s heart breaking.
