As devastation has struck the island of Grand Bahama once again, Koa Canopy's initiative to provide relief to the residents is underway for the second time in as little as three years.
My name is Lisa Lake and I am the Director of Koa Canopy, the philanthropic branch of our real estate development company, Koa Partners. Jhevasse Mitchell of Koa Partners' home island of Grand Bahama was completely devastated by Hurricane Dorian, which has been recorded as one of the most powerful Atlantic storms on record, impacting countless families (his included), many of which were vulnerable to tremendous loss. They remain in need of power, water, and basic supplies. We are asking for your help in our effort to address these urgent needs as a result of this historic tragedy.
Koa Canopy has empowered us to harness our resources to serve Grand Bahama. This is deeply personal to our company and we feel blessed that Koa Canopy will support this relief effort to ensure that 100% of the funds raised will directly impact the lives of those devastated by Hurricane Dorian. Our CFO, Gary Ellis, has been designated the funds manager and organizer for this fund raising effort on behalf of Koa Canopy and Koa Partners.
We have coordinated with local Churches and Bahamian Community Leaders to assess the needs of the community.
We are procuring generators, portable stoves, butane gas, tarps, water, non-perishable food items, flashlights, batteries, and other necessary items and will then personally work with the local community centers to deliver the goods as soon as possible.
We are thankful for your support to help rebuild the lives of the people of Grand Bahama.
Sincerely,
Koa Partners & Koa Canopy
