Hi Friends and Family!
I’m a special education teacher for high school students in the Bronx, and I run a transition program for seniors.
During their time in the program, they learn life and vocational skills through a 1-year long internship at a hospital in the community. These skills teach them to be independent and prepare them for life after graduation.
In just 6 short weeks, my class of 12 hard-working, resilient, intelligent, positive and kind students will be graduating. They have overcome many challenges to be where they are today, and we are so excited to help them find jobs and begin the next chapter of their lives.
My staff and I would like to celebrate their accomplishments by taking them to a fun Hibachi Restaurant. We would also like to get them graduation gifts that will help them transition to the working world.
