Gord Needs a Lung Upgrade - Lets Make It Happen

Donation protected
Hi, we are the Holfeld's and we are asking for financial support for Gord & Shelly MacMurchy - as they are starting their long journey to get Gord breathing and singing again.

Gord was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA) in 2021 and due to complications of RA - he was re-diagnosed in 2022 with Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF). Gord spent 2 months in the hospital last fall with a collapsed lung, which resulted in a hole in his lung that could not be repaired. Currently, Gord is now back in the hospital with other health complications, they have now re-assessed his lung capacity at 10% of lung function, which has moved him up on the transplant list.

A little about Gord. Gord was born and raised in Regina SK. He moved to the Weyburn/Estevan area after highschool working as a Mortgage Specialist. Gord is a father to two boys - Kaj & Cameron - a step-dad to Chelsey, Donavon & Ashley. He is a husband to Shelly(Olson/Radons) & a dog dad to Rusty & Sophie.

When Gord isn't renovating his home or someone else's - you can find him on the boat fishing or out in the wilderness hunting. Gord loves to take his dogs out bird hunting as his side kicks. Gord is very talented in everything he does. Gord is a backup singer & bass player for the local band Method To Madness. Gord has been playing with this band for over 30 years. They have played at many events such as multiple Curling Event's, Memorial Cup Regina 2018, Grey Cup Regina 2022, many charity events and at multiple local establishments. If you haven't been hunting, fishing or jamming out with Gord, you might have seen him at the Regina Flying Club as he has his pilot license and loves to spend his time in the sky.

Due to Gord recent health changes - he is now on the URGENT LIST for a double lung transplant. Gord & Shelly will have to temporally reside in Edmonton, AB for many doctor appointments, tests & hopefully a transplant sooner rather than later. They will have to spend a few months in Edmonton as his transplant team needs to keep a close eye on him.

Shelly, as you know is an amazing nurse to everyone else - but right now she needs to be a wife to her husband who will be getting major life threatening surgery. Shelly has always cared for her patients, community, family & friends. Shelly with her 38 years of experience in nursing was ready to enjoy her retired life with his husband in their new home in Lipton, Sk. They both deserved their much needed retirements plans together.

We are asking for funds on behave of Gord and Shelly to help them navigate this new normal. With food, travel, hotels, rentals, dog care & everything in between - lets join together and support these two as they have always supported everyone else.

If you have any questions, thoughts, extra love or even some encouraging words - please reach out to any of us as we would love to hear them.

Thank you.
