Golden Gears #9881 Advance to World Championships

We are Golden Gears, a robotics team working from a home garage in La Canada and competing in the FIRST Technology Challenge (FTC) as Team #9881.  We just qualified for the FTC World Championship Tournament, which will be held in Houston on April 17-20.  This is a big deal for us!  After four years of competing in the annual FTC challenge (funded by team parent donations), we have reached our goal of advancing to the World Championship Tournament.   Please help our team members get to Houston next month.

We competed on March 9, 2019, against 47 other teams in the Los Angeles Regional Championships for various judged awards and against 23 other teams in the robot game play.  Based on our robot performance and our season-long efforts, we were awarded 3rd place Inspire (best all-around) and the Connect Award (engaging the engineering community).  We are so excited with the outcome and the chance to compete in Houston next month.
