My name is Jem Taylor Minier and I am a 9th grade student at the Berkshire Waldorf High School in Stockbridge, MA.
I am fundraising because a sudden, rare and exciting opprotunity has arisen to join some schoolmates and a teacher to go to Costa Rica April 4-18 to strengthen our Spanish language skills, offer community service and explore new environments.
We will participate in some service work with an indigenous village in the rain forest and with leatherback turtles. We will also snorkel in the Caribbean Sea, raft down the Rio Pacuare, rappel over a waterfall into a jungle pool, learn how chocolate is made, and do a jungle canopy tour.
As a 9th grader, I did not benefit from time to participate in fundraising with the rest of the travelers over the past two years. I sincerely hope to raise the funds in the next 2 weeks to be able to join them.This request will make up 75% of the money that I need to go on this trip. Ideally, I would like to have all donations in by April 3, 2018, before I leave on the trip.
