Go Lucy go!! Lucy's journey to conquer leukemia

Please join Lucy in her fight against Leukemia!

While Lucy and her sweet family were on vacation visiting grandparents abroad, Lucy became very ill and was hospitalized for 10 days. It looked like Lucy had an extreme viral infection with bone marrow suppression, but when they started to return home, her numbers started to decline and she ended up hospitalized again. A couple weeks ago, Lucy underwent a bone marrow biopsy. Erin and Andy's greatest fear was confirmed. They received the devastating news that Lucy did indeed have leukemia. She got her first dose of chemo the very next day, and has been given countless blood transfusions. Lucy will be going to the clinic weekly for chemo treatments for the many months to come, and Lucy's parents, Erin and Andy,  have a long road ahead.

While we're here, lets talk about Little Miss Lucy. She is the sweetest, happiest one year old little ray of sunshine you could hope to meet. She loves laughing at her two older sisters, Bobbie and Zeezee. She loves lights and bubbles and babbling all day at whoever wants to listen! She has a wicked sassy side eye that makes you feel like she's judging all of your life choices... but always finishes with her signature smile. In fact if you look at her, you can't help but smile! Her joy is contagious! She's a little love bug.

There are so many expenses that come with this diagnoses. Medical bills are going to be the greatest, and no parents should ever have to worry about how they will pay their bills while trying to overcome a battle like this with their child.

How can you help?

Give. Give whatever you can. There is no amount too small. Erin and Andy have a family of 5. They need to be able to pay for their home, childcare, groceries, gas, diapers, insurance...all the things a family needs everyday. This journey is going to require money. Lots of it. Erin is a mother who would give you her last dime. Give whatever your heart compels you to give. There is no greater cause.

Erin and Andy currently only have one working vehicle. Erin needs to be able to take Lucy to appointments while Andy works. They have a parked old car, but it needs lot of work. If you have a reliable car you don't need, now is your chance to make a huge difference in the lives of a family who deserve it.

If you cannot make a monetary donation, give your time. Lucy is not going to be able to leave the house much, possible exposure to sickness is too great a threat to her fragile immune system. The older girls would love a playdate at the park, or a walk around the block. Cooking a kid friendly meal is another way to help the family. Delivering a coffee to Erin is another.

If you know Erin, Lucy's beautiful mama, then you've likely been touched by her love and generosity. She is smart, selfless, and courageous. Now it's Erin and Andy who need the help. Let's pull Lucy's family through this. Your support, no matter the amount, is so appreciated beyond measure.
