Global Clinical Health Trip

Hi everyone!
In April of 2018, I will have the opportunity to travel to the Philippines for a 2+ week clinical rotation/global health trip with some of my peers and clinical instructors through the Duke School of Nursing. While there, we will be working with nursing students and instructors from the University of Santo Tomas to provide health promotion and disease prevention to both urban and rural communities. We will also be conducting community and family health assessments, which include providing vaccinations, physical examinations and other medical care.
I am so excited for the opportunity to provide care to communities without open access to healthcare as well as the opportunity to learn about healthcare practices in a developing country. Some of you already know that a goal of mine is to provide healthcare to Mamurshahi, a rural village in Bangladesh, a developing country where my dad grew up. By learning about the systems in place in the Philippines, I hope to use that knowledge to one day implement a system in Mamurshahi so that more people have access to adequate healthcare. If you can, I would truly appreciate any assistance that would help turn this dream into a reality. Your donation would go towards supplies, medications and travel to different locations during this rotation. This will allow me and my peers to provide care to communities that rely on us for healthcare and would have scarce resources otherwise.
