Giving Refugees a Voice
Donation protected
As many of you know, I spent time in Uganda last year to volunteer and document the East African refugee crisis. I worked with HOCW (Hope of Women and Children), an amazing nonprofit that serves refugees in Ndejje, Uganda. I spent time with refugees and learned about the crisis at hand. I shot footage to create a documentary on this crisis, because I believe it is important and urgent to share these stories. Although the footage I shot during that trip was enough to lay the groundwork for a documentary, I am now asking for your help to finish it. There are untold stories to film and footage that must be shot in order to complete this project.
This documentary could not come at a more relevant time, as East Africa is home to the fastest-growing refugee crisis in the world. Please help me share more stories, open up the conversation, and give exposure to a cause and a situation that is spreading faster and faster.
I have been very fortunate to receive the support of other film professionals throughout this journey. While I have been able to self fund everything else so far, I am at a point where I need to ask for help. My goal is to raise the money in time to film in Uganda by the end of summer.
Please watch the two minute sizzle for my documentary, and if you are inclined, please donate and/or share. It means the world to me to help these people and to give exposure to a crisis that is just not talked about enough.
Any extra funds that are raised will be donated directly to HOCW, a nonprofit for refugees in Uganda that is close to my heart.
