Giving Back to Peter

Donation protected
In an effort to pay it forward and also teach my children acts of kindness, I have decided to setup a GoFundMe to let Peter-From-the-School-District know how much myself and our community appreciates him. I have started this page with the amount that he paid for my groceries and have left it open to the community for whomever would like to join in my efforts to let Peter know that he is special. I would very much like to find him and bless him with this. If I am unable to find him, this fund will be donated to either Feed My Starving Children or Second Harvest Heartland, in Peter's name, in order to help families in need.
Below is the original post that I have been sharing all over social media:

I would like to take a moment and reach out to our beloved community...........

I am a VERY busy mom with a very busy household. I am back in school to finish my writing degree and my husband is working full-time, and currently four people in our house are in school or college, making for a pretty packed schedule for me. This afternoon, I had done what a lot of moms have done at some point (I'm really just saying this to make myself feel better) and had a very embarrassing moment at Cub over on Hanson and Northdale. Earlier, I had given my husband my bank card as we were all in a rush (we use mine for groceries for budgeting purposes) and I forgot to get it back. So of course I had my two kiddos with me picking up something for supper and at the checkout line I looked in my wallet and realized my card wasn't there. I quietly apologized to the cashier and asked if my order could be placed on hold while my husband brought my card to pay for the groceries. Then, something really amazing happened. A very nice gentleman who had just gone through the line before me asked if my husband was coming. I smiled and said yes, he is close by. Then he said, "well let's get you taken care of" and went over to the cashier, asked how much and paid for our groceries despite my awkward protests. By this time, others had noticed and were giving him thumbs up and warm compliments saying how nice that was. Of course, I was wishing I could grow wings so I could fly my kids and I back to the car because I was so embarrassed, but I was thankful. I am so thankful for this nice gentleman and his very gracious act of kindness. It made my heart swell. It is acts of kindness like this that live in my heart when there is so much junk in the news and so many other things happening in the world that are hard to stomach. All that I know of him is that his name is Peter and he works for "the school district." I would love to send him a thank you card, but I would be so happy if there is someone that knows him that could pass along this message for me and let him know that his kindness meant more than he knows. Thanks for reading, and Peter-from-the-school-district, thank you for being such a gentleman and saving me during my embarrassing moment

Just a quick note, when I asked him for his info so that I could repay him, he of course politely declined, and said I should tell my husband to take me out for dinner. I am still hopeful in repaying his act of kindness in one way or another. If I am unable to find him, I am planning on paying it forward in some way and giving Peter-from-the-school-district all of the credit ❤️
