GIVING BACK A LITTLE OF WHAT HAS BEEN GIVEN

Hello, my name is David Teran, and I am currently an associate Minister/Pastor at Spider Lake Church in Hayward, WI.

For the past 6 years I have served in this church, and I can say without a doubt that it has been the best ministry experience of my life. I have encountered a family that cares, loves and ministers genuinely to so many people, welcomes everyone and who is also a very generous community. I myself have experienced so many times and in so many ways the generosity from this community as well as the overall Hayward church community as well.

Almost 4 years ago God called a true man of God to come and serve in our midst. The gifts and skills as well as all the resources that God has gifted this man with were given to us as a huge blessing and from the beginning this man has poured out his life, time, and resources into this beautiful community of Hayward. I don't know of anyone who has come in contact with this man that has not benefited and been blessed by this man's heart, dedication, commitment and passion to see others find healing, freedom and liberty in Christ as well as seeing them go from non-believers to fully devoted followers and disciples of Jesus. This man is Pastor Michael Thompson.

As I mentioned before, the training, gifts, skills and resources that God has given this brother, he has put under the obedience and leadership of God in his life. Everything he makes available to the church would cost thousands of dollars and would take so much time to apply it and make it effective for everyone, but he has chosen to offer it all free of charge, which is an amazing display of his heart for people.

And just like many of us, there have been many trials and situations that have affected him in very negative financial ways. What he offers to all of us in priceless, and if he were to function in the roles he does and charge what someone with his credentials would, he wouldn't struggle financially. This man is in the process of writing a book, has been asked to endorse other famous' people's books, but he has declined many times so that he can truly serve this community. If you ever have a question of the kind of impact he's had, just take a look at the Greater Hayward House of Hope here in Hayward, which God used him to start. Just that place alone has already made such a huge difference in so many people and continues to stand as a great gift to this community. And that is just a small part of so much this man has been used for in this community.

But like I mentioned before, because of his servant heart, he finds himself struggling. His health has led them to amass many a medical bills and on top of that he has a couple more surgeries scheduled here soon, which will not help with the struggle. A knee surgery and a neck surgery in the next couple of months are a big ordeal.

He has started on this amazing journey to get better in his health, and to this day he has lost over 150 lbs!!! And his commitment to his health speaks highly of his desire to get better and better.

So, in view of all of this, will you be willing to pray and ask God how you could be a part in helping this amazing brother, humble and generous servant of God in covering some of his medical bills both past and present?

Whatever God leads you to do will be a huge blessing to him. And believe me when I say this again, that what he gives in time, resources and knowledge is more valuable than any amount of money we could ever give. And I myself am a first hand witness of the calling and ministry that God has given him, and I have been the object of the blessings of his generosity in my life!!!
