Give Mason A Room

These funds will benefit Mason, a 10 year old boy from McKinney, Texas; with Spina Bifida, Scoliosis, Hydrocephalus,  Arnold Chiari Malformation Type II,  Hydromyelia, Muscle Contractures, Sever Anxiety, ADD and other related issues.    

Mason is in need of a bedroom of his own with an ADA bathroom for his medical needs, independence and privacy. With an ADA bathroom it would give Mason the opportunity to be independent in his self care. With an ADA compliant sink he could brush his teeth and comb his hair on his own.  With an ADA compliant toilet and rails he could learn to transfer and use the toilet on his own not waiting for someone to help him.  With a roll in shower he could be independent in bathing.  As he grows it is getting harder and harder to lift him in and out of a bath tub.  With an ADA compliant bathroom not only would he have more independence but he would feel a little more normal like his peers.  Also after surgeries he is usually not allowed to take a bath due to the incisions so having a shower he could at least rinse off.  Coming home after each and every surgery he needs a place that he can rest and heal without being bothered by anyone else in the house.  He needs room for all his medical, sports and physical therapy equipment.     

Habitat for Humanity will do the build if enough funds can be raised to cover their reduced costs.

Any support that can be provided would mean the world to this family, especially Mason.   Mason is having his 15th surgery/procedure on Nov15th, therefore the sooner these funds could be raised the more helpful it will be for Mason and his family.
