Give Koda A New Life

Spende geschützt
"At all times, fate gives you opportunities; you just have to grasp them and not leave them to fate."

Koda grasped this opportunity when he confided in us (Sherin and Nico) during our vacation in Greece - Without knowing whether we meant him harm or help. Dirty and slightly emaciated, but still incredibly sweet, we met him on the side of the road and immediately connected.

He followed us for over three kilometers to our hotel, and we knew he needed our help. So we sneaked him into our hotel and looked after him until the next morning.

The next morning, we sneaked out of the hotel complex to return to the place where we first saw him. We hoped to get information about him, but to no avail. We posted pictures of him on social media, but there, too, people wrote that he had been on the streets for several weeks.

Then we met a volunteer from animal welfare, who spoke with his colleagues and made sure the dog could be cared for. The condition, however, was that someone had to keep him at home for at least 21 days until he was allowed to leave the country after the vaccinations. But we had to fly back to Germany the next day. As if by fate, we met a wonderful woman who ran a café next door and offered to let the dog live with them for the time being, even though she has small children, dogs, and cats. We just had to promise her that we would adopt the dog.

Since he had already adopted us, and we didn't want to let him or all the wonderful people who helped us down, we did it.

Before he can enter Germany, however, he must be microchipped, vaccinated several times, and neutered. He also needs his own pet passport. Furthermore, the flights to Greece to pick him up and back will cost quite a bit. Not to mention the costs for care and feeding that the wonderful woman who will be looking after him during this time will have to bear.
Of course, we have taken responsibility for these costs and do not want to burden the great people who were willing to support us and Koda.

Since Sherin is still studying and my rent in Berlin is unfortunately very high, these are costs we hadn't planned for at this point. However, the lack of money won't stop us from getting Koda off the streets and giving him a new home.

We are really grateful for any support we receive, even sharing the post will help, so that Koda gets what he deserves.

I will try to provide receipts for every expense I incur with the donation money. If the above costs are covered and there's still some money left over, we will donate it to the animal shelter and the woman who took Koda in, and invest it in Koda himself.

Love to everyone
Take care of each other
