Help for an Unsheltered Family

I saw the faces of homelessness today. They were the faces of a mother with three precious children ages 1, 4 and 7 sitting in the grass beside a fast-food restaurant while the husband was at work. Yes, a husband working full-time yet still unable to ensure security and stability for his family despite his best efforts. The family also includes 2 older children (ages 9 & 10) who happened to be with friends for the weekend at the time of my initial encounter with the family. The mother shared three or four instances that seemed to happen in succession that just created a domino effect that resulted in their eviction from their apartment. A normal family with normal lives who just needed 3 to 4 months of a bad financial stretch to end up on the streets with all of their belongings packed in their car on its last leg.

Now here is the truth, more individuals and families then you would imagine are just this close to homelessness. Going without a few paychecks would be enough for many Americans to find themselves in the same position as this young family.

We are raising funds for a two-fold reason.

1. Secure housing (application fee, security deposit and 1st month's rent) in a privately owned rental property identified with the mother, Adrienne.

2. Repairs to the family vehicle which has served as transportation and shelter with no regular maintenance and is now not very road worthy.
