Give Hope, Fight Poverty

This winter, I will be travelling to Swaziland, one of the world's smallest countries that has the highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS (~39.2% of adults). The destruction that HIV/AIDS causes is not only its extremely high death rate, but also the devastation it causes to the lives of 120,000 children that are orphaned because of the disease. I am travelling to Swaziland this winter with Give Hope, Fight Poverty to empower these children that have been orphaned because of HIV/AIDS, and are struggling with poverty, illiteracy, and a health care disparity. These young children are left alone to deal with the grief of losing their parents while also having to become the head of their household and take responsibility for their even younger siblings. They do so with a lack of access to many basic resources such as food, education, and basic medical needs.

All of the money raised by this campaign will go towards funding our trip - during which we will buy and distribute food to child-headed homes, set up a clinic to distribute medications and give basic medical care, and most importantly make sure all the orphans can continue their education.
Another way your donations will help is to fund one of Give Hope, Fight Poverty's newer projects: rain irrigation systems. These systems will catch and store rainwater which will allow children to use the water to grow their own crops - giving them a source of food as well as a source of income when they sell the crops. Each rain irrigation system costs $600 so we will be saving donations to go towards building more of those as well.

Any donation no matter how little will be greatly appreciated even $2 is enough for us to buy albendazole - deworming pills for the orphans. Every little bit of support gets us one step closer to eradicating HIV/AIDS from Swaziland and completely transforming the lives of these orphans and giving them all the bright futures they deserve!
