I'm raising money for Collective Aid, an independent, volunteer-run organization aiming to cater for the ever-changing needs of refugees and migrants in the Balkan Countries.
Collective Aid currently works between Belgrade, Serbia and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. We work with community centres, food distribution, the making and distribution of hygiene packs, and the collection and distribution of nonfood items such as sleeping bags, blankets, winter coats, and other clothing items.
The Azadi Community Center (Obrenovac, Srbija)
With large numbers of refugees and migrants stuck in Serbia with little hope of being able to move forward the negative effects on mental health and overall welfare are inevitable. Restlessness, frustration and depression are commonly seen symptoms among those feeling trapped in Serbia.
The Azadi Community Center near Obrenovac Transit Centre was opened as a response, in order to empower, create hope and to improve welfare. Azadi - meaning ‘freedom’ in Farsi and Urdu - aims to provide a safe space outside of camp where we offer recreational activities, skills-based learning, European language lessons and culture workshops. With a supportive atmosphere and the experience of a sense of progress, we hope to foster a feeling of community and purpose.
I´m starting this fundraiser, in hopes to help raise money for food, blankets, clothing and hygiene products for Collective Aid and other organizations that we donate none food items too.
With your donation, you are also helping us cover admin costs and keep this organization alive.
Please help me raise funds to keep us going! Every euro or dollar goes towards providing nutrition, warmth, hygiene and dignity.
