School bags for girls in India

I'm looking to raise funds to provide school bags for the 1,200 students at Pardada Pardadi in Anoopshahr, Bulandshahr, district, Uttar Pradesh India. This non-profit is dedicated to the academic, economic and social empowerment of girls and women in this impoverished area of the country. The draw of a free education complete with free textbooks and free meals encourages families who might otherwise not send their daughters to school - either for lack of money or for lack of interest - to allow their girls to get an education.


I'll be volunteering at the school in November and December of this year and would like every girl to have their own bag to carry school supplies. In addition to purchasing canvas tote bags, I'll use the donations to embroider the bag with the school logo and purchase art supplies so each girl can decorate their bag.
