Gina Agcaoili & Family Wildfire Relief Fund

Hi everyone, my name is Christina Tadeo and I am writing this on behalf of my mother and siblings.

Like many others, my family has lost everything to the Lahaina wildfire that took place on August 8th.

We have always lived around Lahaina, but finally settled and called Kalena Street our home. My mother, sisters, and I have lived here since I was in high school. Even though we were always moving around, our personal belongings always stayed beside our mother. The day the wildfire came and burned our home was the day we lost all of our valuable personal belongings.

My mother is one of the hardest working people I know. She’s worked long hours and multiple jobs to get where we are. My younger sister, Charisse and her boyfriend have also been doing the same to support their 10 month old, Malia. My youngest sister, Chassidy has been staying out of trouble and focusing her time with the culinary program at UHMC. I have been also studying and taking care of my 6 month old with my boyfriend.

My younger sister, Charisse, was in this house with her boyfriend and 10 month old, Malia before everything happened. They were able to escape with only a few things. I was at my boyfriend’s house and unable to grab my things as the roads were becoming redirected and blocked off as the fire was getting close. Mom was at work this morning and had no idea what was happening in Lahaina until there was nothing left to grab.

Luckily, everyone is safe and currently staying at the resorts the Ritz Carlton Kapalua and the Hyatt. Everything from this fundraiser will help my family with new clothing, baby stuff, and new housing.

**Update 03/38/24

Mahalo to everyone who has donated, my mother, sister, niece, and brother in law are currently situated in a home on the west side until February of 2025 (hoping for an extension). Funds now will be used to purchase food, clothes (for each other), and furniture for their current housing placement. We are still on the hunt for something more permanent and so some money will be kept on the side when needed to pay rent. Again, mahalo nui everyone for donating!
