See below. Fundraiser for George and Brenda Shafer, the retired couple on the hill in Bixby without water for over 100 days. This family has lived in this house for over 30 years with no interruption in water services. A water utility company doing work shut off the water, and the water stopped flowing for all the nearby residents. It took weeks for the city services to reestablish water but not to the Shafers' home. Some days they get a trickle and on other days, a small stream, and often nothing comes out of their faucets. The city is not willing to fix the problem, so IT IS up to us, time to pull out the pocketbook and give something. This wonderful couple has been a part of our community for many years. They pastored a local church. They did not ask to be helped, they did not even know what a GoFundMe was. They have pleaded with government offices to no avail. the Shafers and their family are givers. If something good happens, they are behind the scenes championing the cause, putting their feet to their faith. They have facilitated medical outreaches and Girl's Homes. This community is blessed to have them. Everything came to a halt when their water line was disrupted and diminished by city services.

So here we are, as a community, we can put this matter to rest with our POCKETBOOKS. Gifts large and small will help reach the goal. The estimated cost was $8,000 dollars. As of today, 10/27, an additional $1,800.00 for an electric pole and meter to operate the pump that will push the water up the hill. We are the community, we are ready to quit talking about the problem, and we are ready to FIX the problem. Let’s push water up that hill! If everyone gives something, we will get it done. Soon the Shafer family can live, eat, shower and drink in their home again.
