HELLO!

I want to tell you about a really random guy I know called Omidullah.

Omidullah Alizadah is a Hazara Afghan refugee stuck in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in northern Kenya, and one of the most inspiring people I’ve had the privilege to know. A former member of the Afghanistan National Savate (French boxing) Team, he is now a coach and the founder of Savate within the refugee community in Kakuma.

(It is insane that he has ended up in Kakuma. It happened as a result of bad advice — he flew to Uganda and ended up across the border in the Kenyan desert. He is totally isolated there. IMPORTANT: The Hazara are a Shia ethnic minority persecuted by the Taliban and face a real chance of being killed for who they are if they stay in Afghanistan. He cannot go home.)

TLDR:
Now in possession of a temporary travel document issued by UNHCR, he has been officially invited to compete on an international event — a chance to tell the story of struggle, achievement, and the power of sport to keep hope alive. But to make this trip possible, Omidullah urgently needs to raise £1,300 to cover travel, visa, and accommodation costs. Without a stable income or institutional support, he is relying on individual generosity to make it happen.

In an environment marked by hardship and scarcity, Omidullah introduced Savate where it's become a vehicle for peace, empowerment, and mental well-being for young refugees. What began as a few determined individuals training barefoot on dusty ground, with no gloves, mats, or proper equipment, has now grown into a recognized program that brings strength, discipline, and hope to many. Thanks to his Omidullah, Savate is now officially recognized in Kakuma.

His efforts have reached far beyond the camp. Omidullah was recently appointed to the Refugee Commission of the International Savate Federation (FISav), where he represents thousands of refugee athletes on the global stage.

TLDR REPEAT!!
