If you know Matt Davison, better known as Mr Boost, you’ll know just how much his car means to him.
Today at Santa Pod, Matt was involved in a huge crash at around 170mph. Another car came into his lane and Matt had nowhere to go. He hit the other car before being thrown into the walls, eventually hitting both sides of the track.
Thankfully, Matt is here to tell the story. His car, however, is a complete write-off.
And for Matt, this isn't simply a case of losing a car.
He has spent years and years building, developing and improving this car. It's been a massive labour of love, dedication, time and an amount of money that most people probably wouldn't want to add up!
The last 18 months have been particularly difficult, with problem after problem preventing him from getting the results he knew the car was capable of. But he never gave up.
Just recently, everything finally started coming together.
He upgraded the engine, started setting personal bests and getting incredibly close to records. Then, just two weeks ago, he achieved something he'd been chasing for years — his first ever trophy.
It felt like all the hard work and setbacks were finally paying off.
And then today, through absolutely no fault of his own, it was all taken away in a matter of seconds.
The car is badly damaged and Matt simply doesn't have the money available to rebuild it. For someone else, that might mean walking away. But for Matt, this car has been his passion, his escape and a huge part of his life for many years.
So we're asking the racing community, friends, family and anyone who knows what this car and this sport means to him to help us give Matt a chance to rebuild.
Every £5, £10, £20 or £50 will make a difference. It all adds up and every single donation will go towards getting Mr Boost back on the start line.
He's put everything into this car for years.
Let's show him that he's not doing the rebuild alone.
Let's get Mr Boost back boosting. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who donates, shares this fundraiser or simply sends Matt a message. It will mean more to him than you probably realise.
