Georgina's Cambodian Feeding Dreams
Donation protected
FROM GEORGINA WHITTLE
This year, as a member of our school fundraising committee, ‘Interact’, I was offered the amazing opportunity to travel to Cambodia in December and participate in a service-learning volunteer program for 2 weeks. The trip will involve 5 days teaching at the ‘Feeding Dreams’ school in Cambodia, teaching English and organising meals and clothes for the children. We will also be delivering food packages to families in the surrounding villages. At the end of the program, we will have a brief opportunity to experience the local culture and learn about the fascinating history of Cambodia.
We are required to fundraise a nominal amount to donate to the Feeding Dreams school and collect old clothes to donate for the children. Whilst not mandatory, I have decided to raise the entirety of funds for the trip myself ($4500 AUD), to give me more of a sense of ownership for what is certain to be a rewarding and eye-opening, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
To raise money, I have set myself the goal to row 400km (the coastal length of Cambodia), through a combination of rowing training on the river and ergo sessions in the gym. I would be really appreciative of your sponsorship or anything you can donate to support me in achieving my fundraising goal.
I have already rowed 100km of my 400km target.
