Geneva Heights Peace Pantry Eagle Scout Project

I'm Noah Hundley and will complete the highest rank in Boy Scouts by achieving Eagle, culminating with a service project. My selected benefactor is Geneva Heights Elementary School Peace Pantry which actively partners with the Woodrow Wilson High School Peace Pantry to supplement meals and provide healthy snacks, and uniforms/shoes for students in need. Approximately 30 Geneva Heights families go home each Friday with a backpack full of food during the school year. The pantry is open to anyone who needs it, and no application is necessary.

The school is undergoing a complete renovation which will require the students to attend class at another location for two years which also means the Peace Pantry has been uprooted. The interim site of the Geneva Heights Peace Pantry will be housed at Interfaith Ministries in Dallas. The new pantry has an immediate need for shelving to be built, current items cataloged and organized and would benefit from a community food drive with the goal of collecting 2023 pounds of food to commemorate the year of my high school graduation.

For each $15 raised, I expect to be able to purchase 10 pounds of food in the form of canned goods, dried rice and beans, peanut butter and other shelf-stable items that will benefit the students at Geneva Heights.
