Gena's Postpartum Doula Fund

Hello Smithies and non-Smithie Friends and Family,
As you may know, Gena is currently going through a very difficult time. While in her third trimester of pregnancy with her second child (a boy!), Gena has also had to file for divorce. The impact of these events coinciding is creating many challenges and logistical worries about the future, not the least of which is how to manage a newborn and a toddler on her own.
Baby Boy is due 9/16 and Gena will have family visiting early on through September, but then they must return to New York. Gena has a great support system of dear friends in Seattle but is financially in a bind, and without family nearby to help at night and on weekends, she is looking to hire a postpartum doula to assist with newborn and toddler care.
All funds collected here will go into helping Gena ease some of her very immediate financial and logistical worries. The money will go into hiring a postpartum doula, and for any general emergencies that can arise while going through a divorce alone with no family nearby and two small ones.
