The Henshaws flooded basement damage

This GoFundMe has been set up by friends of the Henshaw Family to help them recover from the damages that occurred as a result of significant flooding on Friday, August 7th, 2020.

The Henshaws' finished basement was a family hangout area as well as where Nick and April's bedroom was located. On Tuesday, 8/4, a tropical system saturated the area with an all day rainfall. Three days later, on Friday 8/7, slow-moving storms dumped over 4" of rain in Lancaster County over a 3-hour period, leading to the catastrophic flooding of their basement.

What was lost (See pictures below):

+ all the carpeting in the basement
+ three couches
+ clothing
+ sump pump
+ dresser and night stands

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in the next month to help this amazing family recover from their losses. Unfortunately, insurance is not going to be able to cover any of these losses.

The money raised will help them restore their basement to the functional living space that they need, so that April and Nick can get their bedroom back, the family area can be restored, and they can replace destroyed items of clothing. We are hoping some of these funds will also cover work to better waterproof the basement as well.






The Henshaws are the kind of people who reach out to help when they see a need, and we're now asking the community to do for them what they've done for others time and time again.
