4 year old Matthew Toma

Our little guy Matthew was a happy, fun loving, full of energy normal 4 year old child up until November 25th, 2015.   We noticed changes in his appearance,  after a few days he got worse and was taken to urgent care, urgent care sent us to the hospital. Since then Matthew has been diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. He has been transferred to Children's Hospital Downtown Detroit.  He has been receiving platelet transfusions and is now facing bone marrow damage and has incurred liver and gallbladder infection.  The insurance doesn't cover everything as well as I have been unable to work since December 4th.  We were already living like many Americans, paycheck to paycheck and now with only my husband working we are truly suffering financially and it's only been one month.  We have been told by many health professionals this is a long journey and to prepare for the best and worse case scenario.  I will keep you all posted when Matthew gets put on the bone marrow central registry for those whom may want to be tested.  For myself, his dad, his brother and cousin have not been a match.  Thank you for reading our families story, Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers!
