Hello friends & family of the Gaumers!
Our names are Elyse & Chelsea and we have put this together on behalf of our friends, Andy & Andrea. Recently, some friends were discussing wanting to bless the Gaumer's with their next round of IVF. We thought it would be a good idea to start a GoFundme for their close friends and family to have a place to securely send a donation. We have asked Andrea to write a small snippet of what they will experience again as they start their next journey with IVF.
“It all starts with Andy. They will have me hold off on starting the process until they do a punch biopsy (which is literally how it sounds...he goes in & they take 1-2 biopsies from his testicles to get the sperm)...they flush it out and see how many “good ones” we have. Then I start medications of birth control, patches & injections. I will then go in every other day for ultrasounds/blood work to see that the medications are helping to over produce good eggs. Once they are a certain size I go in for the egg retrieval. We find out how many eggs are retrieved. They put one sperm into one of my eggs (for however many eggs we have)...5 days later we find out how many babies we got/how many we want to transfer. At this point I start progesterone injections into my hips daily. If all goes well I continue on them through the first trimester. With Andy’s procedure and the IVF procedure we are looking at $15,000. If there are any babies left over it costs about $4,000 each time to do it with the frozen rounds. We have always said we will use all of the babies we get, we won’t ever not use one or donate them. We won’t ever do pre-genetic implantation testing because we don’t want to know if there is something genetically wrong with our babies. We try to make the process as “normal” as possible. We are grateful for modern day medicine but our hope and trust is always in the Lord as He is who creates life.”
No matter what amount you can give, everything helps. If you can’t give financially right now, you can still help through PRAYER. We believe in the power of prayer and God’s ability to perform miracles, which is what the creation of life is.

**As a quick disclaimer, GOFUNDME does have some fees associated with donations. They recently removed their 5% platform fee for personal campaigns but will still request a donation from donors to help fund their website and customer service support. Currently, the only mandatory fees are 2.9% + $0.30 per donation for payment processing.
