FAMILY - the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their children.
That is one definition for family. Another definition is people who are not related to you but are your very close friends and are as important to you as your family.
Gary and Amanda Stephens are wonderful parents to their four children, Tyler, Robin, Braedon, and Ryanne and caregivers to Amanda's brother. They are also a big part of another family, The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
Gary is a combat veteran and also the Chapter 23-20 XO and Amanda is the Auxiliary Chapter 23-20 Commander.
On 30-May-2020 Gary and Amanda were riding their motorcycle when a couple in a truck crossed into their lane and hit them head-on. Gary and Amanda were flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital.
Gary suffered a fractured skull, collapsed lung, lacerated liver, broken ribs, broken knee, broken femur, and internal bleeding. Amanda suffered a concussion, knee injury, wrist injury, and a contusion to her kidney.
Gary was taken in for trauma surgery to stop the bleeding, and repair injuries. He has now had two and will be going in for a third. Amanda is being monitored right now to see if anything will need to be done for the contusion on her kidney.
As a strong couple and caregivers to their kids and Amanda's brother, they are just as caring when it comes to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association family and other families in the community. They have always been willing to help out if other families were in need. Right now, they need our help.
I have decided against putting a goal amount because we are trying to raise as much money as possible to help with their bills while Gary and Amanda will be unable to work. I am asking that you please donate what you can to help Gary, Amanda, and their children.
Lets see what we can do for them so they don't have to worry about anything other than recovering.
