Garstang Vulnerable People Fund - Coronavirus Aid

People of Garstang, We once again come to you with a plea. The current climate we all find ourselves in is one of uncertainty, hardship, confusion and desperation. The virus has the potential to affect our health... let's not let it affect our humanity. It is humbling to see the work going on with the Garstang Volunteer Group, who are doing great work collect and deliver shopping to those who can both afford it, and have the good health to cook it. This is vital in helping to reduce the risk of the virus spreading and effecting the vulnerable. We implore you to offer them your support where you can. We at the Bellflower, intend on helping the most vulnerable and isolated in our local community. That includes the sick. With the support of our fantastic community, we will feed you, our family. We can help those who cannot currently afford to shop due to monetary restraints caused by self isolation or virus symptoms; we will also give the same assistance to those who are sick with coronavirus and are in quarantine, and those who are financially struggling due to the virus outbreak and how it has affected their livelihood. We cannot do this without you, and we will be relying upon the generosity of you, our neighbours, to help provide this aid. Please donate what you can afford, knowing whole heartedly that your money will be going to those who need it the most... our team will do the rest. A care package of basic toiletries will also be provided to assist those who need our help. If you have any spare toilet roll, shampoo, soap, conditioner, washing up liquid etc please donate them to our cause by leaving them at the pub. We would love to help everyone of our neighbours who needs it.. with the help of our community we might actually be able to do it. We have been awarded a grant (A whopping £1000!!) from the Lancashire COVID-19 Community Support Fund and National Emergencies Trust to put towards our Welfare and Food Packs... how fantastic is that!?!? That now means that we are able to extend the areas where we offer aid. Not only will we cover Garstang, Cabus, Catterall, Scorton, Nateby and Forton... but also the rural areas of Great Eccleston, Hambleton, St Michaels, Knottend, Pilling, Preesall, Stalmine & Out Rawcliff. We are truly humbled by the community spirit and the comradory shown by our neighbours in such a time of crisis. I'm sure we are all aware... there is currently no sign as to when the pandemic will end, but the generosity and compassion shown by so many people suggests what we will be able to carry on helping people for as long as we are needed. ❤❤ Rest assured, the monies already donated to our Go-fund-me page will be spent on providing aid to our original communities; however we are now open for donations to cover our new catchment area.
