What do you do when you have lost everything? How do you pick yourself back up?
Where do you find the strenght as a single parent to tell your children not to worry and that you will look out for them no matter what?
This is the story of my Friend Reyna and her girls: Andreina and Corina. They, like so many others, have been severily impacted by Hurrican Harvey.
A Katy ISD Teacher that provides so much help and guidance to so many young teenagers, is now herself needed guidance and help.
Living next to the Barker - Addicks Reservoir as something dangerous had never crossed her mind until the night of Monday Aug 28th when they had to make a last minute decision of leaving their home, with just a few items in hand, due to the rapidly increasing water coming in. Today, she struggles with the fact of having lost her vehicle, her house and probably all the belongings as the water from the reservoir is still standing in their home with highly contaminated water. It will be days before they can asses the losses.
Currently living at a friends house, Reyna is faced with many challenges of supporting her family: one in college and the other in highschool and for this I ask your help.
Help me help this wonderful teacher, mother and friend. May she soon be back in class with her students doing what she does best.
