Gallbladder Surgery Medical Bills

Hey all, so as many of you may have seen or heard a couple weeks ago my wonderful wife Leanne was struck with some pretty awful stomach pains and symptoms that resulted in a trip to the emergency room. While there she tested positive for COVID so she was stuck in the hospital with no real contact while they ran test after test to determine the issue causing her symptoms. After 5 days they finally tracked down the culprit to her gallbladder - it seems that for a very long time her gallbladder has been operating at under 20% efficiency, which has caused a large number of gastrointestinal problems. Luckily, now that they know what is the issue they can do something about it. Unfortunately, it is not the cheapest outcome in the world, even with the wonderful health insurance I get from my position at Washington University.

There are a number of bills and copays that have started to pile up due to this, and there is the cost of surgery that is coming due soon as well. While my insurance does cover a lot, this medical issue has caused us to have to start using funds that were set aside for other essentials, like car payments, tuition, back-to-school supplies for Hermione and Oliver, and even groceries. And speaking of groceries - the illness unfortunately means that there are now dietary restrictions as to what Leanne can and can't eat, and of course, those options are not always the cheapest.

Now, there are plenty of others out there who are more hard-up than we are, so of course Leanne is loathe for me to reach out for help. But she is very much like that: wanting to help others as much as she can, but reluctant to ask for help herself. So I'm asking - if you have a few extra bucks to help, it would make a world of difference. Enough to pay the medical bills so that our other finances won't be strained any further.

There are tons of people who may need assistance, so even considering us is amazing, and we are forever grateful. And she'll be embarrassed about this, but I know deep down, Leanne will love each and everyone who considers donating. Thank you, really, thank you so much.
