Ga-Ga Pit Eagle Project for EHS

Hello everyone, my name is Rohit Kanduri and I am an aspiring Eagle Scout who is looking for donations so I could complete my Eagle Scout Project, which is constructing a permanent Ga-Ga Pit for Edison High School. 

About Me:
I am a member of BSA Troop 17 based in Metuchen-Edison New Jersey and have been involved in Scouting since the 1st grade. This September, I will be entering my senior year at EHS, which means I am one step closer to the end of my Scouting Experience. All the money gained from this campaign will help me complete my Eagle Scout Project and gain the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting, ending my adventure on a good note.

About the Project:
I will be building a Ga-Ga Pit for Edison High School similar to the one in the image above. It will be an octogonal pit with a diameter of 20-25 feet and walls 30 inches tall. The flooring will also be astro turf on top of a thin layer of sand and weed mats. The purpose of my project is simple: to bring a new activity to gym class we had not previously been able to take part in. After being approached by one of my gym teachers, I saw how many students were excited by the idea of being able to participate in Ga-Ga, a new game that wasn't the usual soccer and football. Aside from benefitting me, this project would benefit the students of EHS by allowing us to gain the physical activity we need in a fun, yet competitive way.
