Gaby's Trip to Japan
Beschermde donatie
Why I want to be an exchange student is because it gives me a chance to adapt in a environment and/or lifestyle different from home, see new people and make new friends, it will be a life changing experience, adapt into new culture, and find new interests that would appeal to me and I could take with me when I come back home.
And the reason I chose Japan for this trip is because I've grown to love it ever since I was a kid. It started from the usual practice of watching anime and drawing in that style because it was a very unique thing in the eyes of a five year old. But as I grew and read more about it in elementary school, I've grown to expand my knowledge about the country; how they live, what food they eat, what their schools are like compared to here, and the list goes on and on. Right there and then, my love for the nation grew and grew as I took in every fact, every picture, every bit of information, that I fell in love with it and read all the books about Japan from my school library.
In middle school, I took Chinese since I wasn't that much interested into the other languages compared to me now, so when I heard that there was a course for Japanese when I was getting into high school, I immediately was on board. To this day, I have had the foreign language class for three years now and it's still one of my top three classes ever since I started high school. I love it so much that I practice every day and make sure I get the whole premise of the language and its structure in my head. I may be a little iffy on it sometimes, but I'm doing great so far thanks to the long time practice and progress.
So really, the reason I want to go to Japan is that I want to learn how to be independent and learn how to make decisions in a different environment, make new relationships, and to see a different world through my own eyes, which would be a more life changing opportunity than reading from a book and simply imagining myself in it.
