Gabriel's Accute Lymphoblastic Leukeamia Journey

Donation protected

Our son has always been a bright and energetic child, full of life and always eager to learn and explore. However, our world came crashing down when we received the devastating news of his leukaemia diagnosis. It was a shock that we never could have prepared for and something that has completely changed our lives. As parents, we have been trying our best to remain strong for our son, but it has been a challenging and emotional journey for all of us.

One of the biggest challenges we face is the constant travel to Southampton hospital for his treatment. As you can imagine, the costs of transportation, especially with the high parking fees, add up quickly and put a strain on our finances.

In addition to the hospital visits, our son also requires regular physiotherapy to help him regain his strength and mobility. Swimming has been recommended as one of the best forms of exercise for him, but due to his weakened immune system, he is unable to attend group lessons. This is why we are looking for 1:1 swimming lessons, which come at a higher cost. We believe that these lessons will not only benefit him physically but also mentally, as he loves being in the water and it helps him forget about his illness, even if just for a little while.

Furthermore, being away from school and his friends has been difficult for our son. He is an active and curious child, and we want to ensure that his mind continues to be stimulated and he doesn't fall behind in his education. He only attends 30 minutes hospital school sessions as his regular school is not able to assist us with homeschooling.
This is why we are looking for the help of a tutor who will work with him in our house adapting to his needs and limitations. We know that education is important for his future, and we want to give him every opportunity to continue learning and growing, even during this challenging time.

We understand that everyone has their own financial obligations, and we are grateful for any support you can provide. Even a small donation can make a big difference in our son's life. Your love and support mean the world to us, and we cannot thank you enough for being a part of our journey.
