Gabby’s Birthday Fundraiser 2022 - Raising Money for School Supplies on Ometepe Island (January 19th- January 25th, 2022)

 

 

 

 

This year for my 24th birthday on January 23rd, 2022, I have decided to raise money for the purchase of school supplies on Ometepe Island in Nicaragua. Ometepe Island, a UNESCO Biosphere reserve , is an island made of two volcanoes located in southwest Lake Nicaragua. Schools on Ometepe Island are in need of school supplies such as pens, pencils, crayons, markers, whiteboard markers, chalk, books, paper, staplers, scissors, glue, etc. Some schools also need water filters and personal hygiene products such as toilet paper, paper towels and hand sanitizer.

 

The goal of this fundraiser is to raise at least $500 to purchase these supplies which would support students at three schools on the island. If more money is raised, I will be able to buy more school supplies and support more schools.

 

 

 

 

 

 

All funds raised will be used to purchase these items on Ometepe Island, as this will also help to support local businesses. As my family and I will be visiting Ometepe Island in a few weeks, we will be able to personally distribute these supplies to the schools selected.

 

All donors will receive fundraiser updates, project updates and receipts/ information as to how funds were used.

 

Any contribution will help to make a difference. Education is invaluable as it transforms lives and provides opportunities for many around the world. Supporting this fundraiser will help improve the education experience for students on Ometepe Island. Thank you for your support everyone!

Hi everyone, 

I am happy to say that after 12 hours, Gabby’s Birthday Fundraiser 2022 has raised $640 CAD to help schools on Ometepe Island, Nicaragua! Thank you to all those who have supported this cause! I have decided to raise my goal to $750 CAD. If more money is raised, I will be able to buy more school supplies and support more schools. Please share this fundraiser with your family and friends. It will be open until January 25th! :)

Information about Gabby’s Birthday Fundraisers

 

This will be Gabby’s third birthday fundraiser. In 2020 Gabby’s birthday fundraiser raised $620 CAD which helps communities in Cameroon and schools on Ometepe Island . In 2021, Gabby partnered with the Morobe Development Foundation Inc. and the United Nations Online Volunteering Program and raised $1445 CAD which funded a women empowerment training project for women in Kobo Village in Papua New Guinea. This year, Gabby’s 2022 Birthday fundraiser is an independent grassroots funding initiative supporting a cause and community Gabby and her family care for deeply.
