One of our very own BVJ family members, Gabby "Boo Boo" Baker, was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She will have surgery at MD Anderson to remove the cancerous tumor and the necessary treatment plan will begin. The prognosis for Gabby is very encouraging!
The Baker Family is such a huge part of our BVJ family. Gabby was most recently on the 12 Nationals, her sister Taylor Baker was on the 17 Nationals and her mom, Coach Candi Baker, coached the 11 National team. Often, you can find the entire Baker family at the gym, playing/training with fellow volleyball players looking to improve.
Anyone who is/has been involved with BVJ has most definitely had their life enriched, due to playing with/playing for/being trained by one of the Baker's! They are a family of giving souls and have given so much to the whole BVJ volleyball family.
Now, with hospital stays, treatments, appointments, follow-ups, etc, we can help by giving back to this wonderful family, when they need it most.
First, Gabby needs prayers, lots and lots of prayers. We ask that you pray for her and her sweet family often.
Secondly, if you find it in your heart to financially help this sweet family with the costs associated with the travel, meals, medical expenses, etc, you are welcome to donate.
Gabby is a fighter and she is fierce! More importantly, she has a giant family of fellow volleyball families supporting and praying for a speedy recovery!
