Volunteer Organization Product Debt

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Samantha Hewitt. I am a 30-year-old stay-at-home mom of two. I want to take a second to thank you for taking the time to read our story. Last school year I volunteered with a national youth organization for the first time as a leader of my daughters group in our area, prior to putting this group together there were limited opportunities for girls to participate in our area. Upon starting this group we were able to provide this opportunity for 20 girls in our community.

Due to legalities I am not permitted to name the specific organization as it could be considered advertising to raise funds using their name which isn’t permitted in any form expect specifically through their product sales.

Being my first year as a leader I was inexperienced in the sale of our product, and trust me, I have learned a valuable lesson. We had $10,000 worth of this specific product to sell between 20 of our groups members, which during a normal year it would have been very reasonable, unfortunately, we had an unusual amount of bad weather in our area during our selling season. We were able to successfully sell $6,500 of that product; however, due to weather we were rained/iced out of MOST of our selling opportunities and I am responsible for resolving the remainder of our debt before I can continue to lead. Because this product has an experation date we weren't permitted to sell it after June 15, 2014 and are stuck with this product and no way to sell it. We will more than likely, donate the unsold product to a local food bank as the experation date still a year out, we just aren't permitted to sell it anymore.

In order to be fully involved with this organization, I have to resolve this debt. I have gained the experience with sales now to ensure that our group is never put in this position again and would truly, really honestly LOVE a second chance at leading this group of girls. Volunteering with this group of girls has been one of the most fulfilling experiences for me, watching them grow, mature and become the awesome young ladies that they are destined to be means the world to me. Being a stay-at-home mom with my husband working nights is making it nearly impossible for me to resolve this debt from our bank account, we are living paycheck to paycheck as most of us are, if I could pay for this out-of-pocket I most certainly would without thinking twice about it as this organization and continuing this group of girl’s means everything to me.  Any donation you make will go directly to resolving this debt in its entirety and will help me to continue to lead this group of girls into a successful adult life in which they are able to make a difference in the world around them.

Any additional funds raised over the debt amount will be placed directly into our group’s bank account and used to further the amazing experience that is offered to these girls through this truly amazing organization!
