Doug Kelso's Cancer Fight

My husband, Doug Kelso has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer. The doctors have decided that because of his young age and otherwise good health that there is a slight chance that treatments will help. But even with Radiation, Chemotherapy & Hormone treatments, the odds are against him. He is very determined to beat this and he's ready to do whatever he needs to do to win this fight. The day the doctors gave us the news of cancer we were in shock. He had not been sick. It was just a routine test that found a problem. Next was a bone scan, cat scan, the oncologist, the urologist, radiology, chemotherapy, prescriptions and more tests. It was all overwhelming and even with health insurance the medical bills were huge. Soon after being diagnosed, Doug told his employer that he had cancer. The following week he was terminated after 3 years of employment. He was suddenly left with no job, no insurance, a life threatening illness and a pile of medical bills. The doctors have told him that his treatment has to be very aggressive to have any chance at working, so starting a new job is not an option. He needs to focus on only one thing and that is getting better. That's when I remembered reading about GoFundMe. I remember thinking what a cool idea it was for people that find themselves in unfortunate and unexpected situations. I never thought I would be one of those people. But here I am asking for help to make this fight for his life a little bit easier. Thank you.
