Run for Haiti!
As many of you know, on August 14th there was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti that left communities devastated - including many of my loved ones. Many families are currently left homeless, living in abysmal conditions, and still waiting on much needed relief. This Saturday, I will be running 13.1 miles through Providence, Rhode Island to raise money for an organization called Communities Organizing for Haitian Engagement and Development, to provide direct relief and critically needed resources for those impacted by the earthquake. I ask for your support in this effort, as my friends, family and my community. If you are able to donate, in any way, that would be greatly appreciated by me and the people of Haiti.
I am organizing this fundraiser as a young, black, first-generation, Haitian American. In this situation, I have privilege and want to leverage that to make a difference.
