Nursing in the Dominican Republic
Donation protected
I am very excited to announce that I will be traveling abroad in May 2018 with the University of North Georgia's Nursing Department as a student nurse to the Dominican Republic. We will leave on May 12th and return home on May 19th; we will be stayingfor seven nights. During the week we will be in La Romana, and we will be traveling to a different batey (sugar cane worker’s village) every day to set up a clinic to provide healthcare to the Haitian immigrants that reside in the surrounding areas. In most cases, Haitian immigrants do not have the benefits of citizenship or healthcare which is why we are stepping in. We will be providing eyeglasses, de-worming, feminine hygiene, and other healthcare interventions.
The funds that I raise will contribute to medical supplies and the fees that are required for me to be able to travel and serve in the Dominican Republic. I am asking for donations so that I will be able to be the hands and feet of Christ while I have this once in a lifetime oppourtunity. I am humbled and blessed to be given the oppourtunity to experience and contribute to two things that I am passionate about: nursing and mission work. Any amount raised or prayers contributed will be very much appreciated!
