Tanzania Volunteer Trip
Hello!
If you're here, you've made a decision to help fund sustainable medicine globally and we thank you for that. Destiny and I, both emergency medicine residents from The Brooklyn Hospital Center, are committed to practicing emergency medicine in underserved areas and we've dedicated ourselves to expanding the reach of medicine to communities that need it the most.
Taking our experiences from Brooklyn, Jamaica, Haiti and Puerto Rico we are now traveling to the Mpwapwa district of Tanzania, a remote area where people travel days on foot to reach the nearest hospital. They are in need of supplies to assist with medical and traumatic emergencies as well as collaboration with physicians to expand their current practices. With your help we will be able to provide them with necessary equipment such as defirillators for heart conditions, torniquets and pelvic binders for patients with severe traumatic injuries and much more. We'll be working with Benjamin Belknap and the organization he started; you can find more info about them at http://kingiti.org/
Our trip is Mar 12- Apr 4 so we've got a few weeks to get this ready! We thank you for taking the time to help us with our mission and look forward to updating you with our progress.
