Furloughed federal employee needing assistance

Hello, I’m a hard of hearing furloughed federal employee of 35 years supporting a deaf child after losing my husband to illness a few years ago.  He passed away without life insurance. It’s been a struggle but with the steady flow of income I have been able to keep our home and put food on the table.   Being born deaf, I’m proud of my accomplishments and of my daughter who is also deaf.  I’m proud to have been able to get her a cochlear implant while she was very young. 

Along with other federal employees we worry about how the furlough affect us should if it should continue for a while.  I have applied for unemployment and have yet to receive a payment.

Without a paycheck through this current government shutdown and not knowing how long it will last I’ve decided to seek support through GoFundMe so I don’t lose our home. 

I am  one month away from eligibility for retirement, I don’t wish to lose my position and annuity after years of hard work as a federal employee.  I don’t wish to change jobs. My daughter is a junior in high school and I have yet to support her through her college years so won’t be retiring for awhile as I continue to pay bills and keep our home. 

I will be forever humbled while appreciating any assistance.
