Funeral Fund for Edna Carrender Keith
Spende geschützt
My family is putting this fundraiser together to help pay for Edna Carrender Keith's end of life care.
If you know Edna Keith, you know she never wanted for much in life. Just to care for her late husband, Paul Keith; her children; her grandchildren; and later on, her great grandchildren. She loves doing puzzles, word finds, and playing Mario. She would grow fresh tomatoes in the summer time, even if she had to put planters on the balcony of her apartment in the middle of town to make it happen. She lived a very full, happy life, and has luckily been blessed with good health for the majority of it.
Edna had been living on her own, unassisted, in relatively good health for her age, when suddenly she was unable to walk. She went to her doctor who urged her to go to the ER. In the hospital, she was told the cause was a mystery and sent off to a live-in rehabilitation unit. After living at the rehab for almost 2 weeks, they discovered a blockage in her instestines which would need to be operated on. Back in the hospital, she was told there was a tear in her colon which would cause an infection-- however, the doctors decided she was too weak to operate on and repair the tear. Mind you, this whole time she has not been allowed visitors due to covid-19. She is finally coming home, on hospice care.
Her children and grandchildren intend to be there for around the clock care as well as the hospice caregivers coming twice a week. They've taken her off of most of her medicine except those which relieve her pain. We will be there to support her as long as she needs, however we are coming from out of state and have to take this time off work to care for her and give her peace and comfort and as much quality time as we can in her final days. As such, any sort of donation, even a dollar, will be appreciated! We love Edna so much and want to be able to give her proper care and a decent funeral, when the time comes.
