Today has been a rough day for all my family and the friends of my brother Shawn cosgrove and im still numb from all the news and have no clue what to legit write here. ... i guess i could back track and tell about my brother and his story...
My brother received a double lung and heart transplant July 03,2017 ... everyone was scared and nervous... he got his second chance at life when he got that call... He healed like a champ.. came home around thanksgiving i do believe.. Everything was fine... fast forward to this last couple days... My mother had to call an ambulance to her home saturday night because shawn was having issues breathing... Their plan was to stablize him and take him to ku medical center... Next thing we knew he was on his way to barnes in STL by helicopter .. His lungs were showing a sign of rejection.. the plan was to put a picc line in his neck and up his meds... they ended up having to put him on a venilator because he was "very sick" checked his heart out and it checked out fine.. his oxygen numbers were better and they decided to pull him off it ... he wore a full cpap mask for his breathing and even video chatting with him he seemed fine... my mother went back to her hotel room wed evening to eat and such as visiting hours were ending... she got a call later that night my brother was found unresponsive in his room and they tried for 45 mins to bring him back and couldnt...
Shawn was on disability due to not being able to work and with everything going on we hardly have anything to afford this... So we are turning to here to ask for help... even if its a couple dollars... we meet with the funeral director tomorrow to get a total cost needed.. so i started small..
if i have more then the goal reached i will gladly be donating the remaining to Donate life missouri ... as for without his donor Johnny.. he would of never made it this far.....
i apologize if i have any misspellings as im running on a couple hours of sleep and cant stop crying...
thank you for your time and prayers.
