In Loving Memory of a Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our loved one, David Earl Smith, 

who was born on August 3, 1958, and passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was the son of Earl and Vera Smith and grew up alongside his brothers, Roscoe “Ed” Smith and Larry Smith. Family meant everything to him, and that devotion carried through every stage of his life.

He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Smith and children: Shaundra (John) Draper, Jarrod Smith, Dustin Boggs, Kendall (Aaron) Miller, and Shelby Cumby. He was a proud grandfather to many grandchildren—LJ, Danny, Matthew, Brady, Kolby, Mu'aawiyah, Manaal, Nawaal, Naasir, Yaasir, and Wally—and was joyfully expecting his very first great-grandchild this coming April.

His passing came after a sudden and unexpected health battle. The loss has left our family heartbroken and unprepared for the financial burden that comes with laying a loved one to rest.
