This campaign was created as an effort to come to the aid of a man who has been the epitome of hard work, loyalty and generosity during his entire 68 years on this earth. His name is John "Frost" Schmit and he needs your help in his brave fight battling prostate cancer.
Frost has been a self employed logger for almost four decades in Tomahawk, Wisconsin where he and his wife, Cindy, have raised 5 children and now have 9 grandchildren. He has always put his friends and family first in all aspects of life. Even when he has been on vacations, one can't help but see Frost there doing work to make sure everyone was comfortable, even though it was his vacation to enjoy too.
Recently, Frost was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he has been as positive a person now as he has been his entire life, even though this diagnosis was not what he wanted to hear. But as a logger who runs a small business (he is the only employee), he will not be able to work his normal hours as his treatment will be taking up alot of his time as the weeks and months pass. To put it simply, he will not be able to bring in the same income while he goes through all of this. Also, he had a couple of major breakdowns to his skidder (the machine used to pick up the logs he cuts) within the last year and cost him thousands of dollars. It was a very large burden put on his shoulders and then his cancer diagnosis came into the fold.
That is why we, his family, have set up this charitable campaign for him. We are hoping to raise money to aid him in his efforts to eradicate this cancer. Whether it's to help he and my mother afford the variety of treatments he will be undergoing at the clinics (such as Nutrition Response Testing (N.R.T.), cold laser therapy and electric therapy). Or whether it's his newly prescribed diet, which is very strict and purely organic and has sharply increased their food bills; they will be paying alot out of pocket. He also is being required to take a variety of daily supplements prescibed at the clinic. We are hoping to raise money to help pay for these things and take the financial burden off of them.
Since Frost has already began his treatments/diet, we are asking for donations to begin as soon as possible to help him keep pace with the cost of treatment. We are doing everything we can to make sure Frost doesn't have to spend his days and nights worrying about money as we want him to keep the same fighting and positive spirit that he has shown since this whole ordeal began when his biopsy results came back positive.
Frost means so much to all of us around him in his life, whether as a family member or friend, and we can't begin to tell you how thankful we are for any amount of donation, thought and prayer sent his way during this trying time for him and the family.
