Rick has been a catastrophic storm adjuster for 20 years   He loved his job & was very good.  He planned to finish out his career doing this job. 
On June 1 of this year in Akron, OH he had just finished inspecting the first story roof of a house. He had pulled the ladder up to that level to set it on place so he could climb to the 2nd level.   He was on the 3rd rung of the ladder climbing up when his boot strap came unfastened & he tripped. He fell off the ladder, hit the first story roof & then fell to the ground. He was taken to Akron, OH hospital where he was taken into emergency surgery. He suffered a very severe spinal cord injury. He is presently paralyzed from the neck down. He does have some limited upper arm movement but no motor skills in his hands. He has no sensation or motor movement from the waist down. He is also fighting many complications from the fall that are requiring numerous surgeries. His road to recovery is going to be long & financially draining. Before rehab can even begin all the medical concerns must be addressed.
