Fundraising for the Yannitelli Family

Hi, my name is Michelle and I started this page on behalf of my life long friends Brittany and Sam Yannitelli and their four children. Sam (43) has been recently diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. After multiple strokes and mild heart attacks, doctors have found ultimately that Sam’s heart is not pumping enough oxygenated blood to his body. His extremely low ejection fraction (measurement of how much blood the left ventricle pumps out) has caused a need to wear an external defibrillator 24 hours a day but as this was not financially obtainable he is currently living dangerously without it. In addition Sam is taking three different medications to help resolve and/or regulate his heart failure but all of these efforts do not guarantee sustainable improvements for a long life.

Due to his diagnosis Sam was forced to dramatically reduce his 25 year landscaping business, as it is deadly for him to continue most of the manual labor it necessitates. So as of current their family of six is working off of mainly one household income. If Sam’s condition doesn’t improve he may have to close down his business altogether. Every aspect of their life has truly been turned upside down over the last couple of months.

In addition to their two elder daughters (Bri, 11 and Mia, 9) Brittany and Sam recently had two more children (Ella, 3 and Sammy, 2). The hardest part of this diagnosis for all of them is that there is no real cure. Someone with Sam’s condition (Cardiomyopathy with Reduced Ejection Fraction 15-19%EF. Large thrombus in left ventricle.) shouldn’t expect to live beyond 5 years. So in addition to the current struggles, they are now dealing with the unknowns of their future as a family. Never considering a life without one another they now have to begin planning for not just today or tomorrow but for the worst case scenario.

Any amount helps and all money raised will go directly to Sam and Brittany to be used as needed for their daily lives.
