Fundraising for our friend David Ehrenstein

On occasion, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association helps members who’ve been hit hard by the pandemic, the economic issues that have arisen from it, and of course the general exigencies of our line of work. Currently, we are raising funds for our friend and colleague David Ehrenstein.

As a film critic and historian, David has written for numerous publications during his long, storied career, including Film Comment, Film Quarterly, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Sight & Sound, Cahiers du Cinéma, Variety and The Advocate. He currently serves as a member of LAFCA's Douglas Edwards Experimental Film Award committee, which selects the most accomplished and innovative work in avant-garde and independent cinema as part of our annual awards ceremony. (Recent recipients have included The Giverny Document, The Green Fog, and Her Socialist Smile.)

We thank our community of colleagues and film lovers for helping us help David during this difficult time.
