Fundraising for Christmas free school meals.

Sadly, low-income families will lose £15 per child in support payment during the Christmas holidays.
This is because, each Child who qualifies for Free School Meals receives £2.50 per day, and they will not be receiving this assistance for 6 days over the Christmas break. That alone is £15 per child.
Emily Bond and Claire Pezzini-Rhodes from The Warndon Parish Residents' Food Drive and Reverend Diane Cooksey from St Nicholas Church in Warndon are raising money to provide support for the local schools who are providing Free School Meals relief for children over the Christmas Holiday.
Warndon Parish Council have generously pledged to assist with covering the cost of the Free School Meals relief for those who qualify within the Parish, and we would like to be able to extend this initiative to support children in the Neighbouring areas of Warndon and Ronkswood.
We estimate there are upwards of 400 local children who will be affected by this shortfall locally who really need our help. This is why we are looking to raise over £6000 to help those in such difficult times.
The money you so generously pledge to this initiative will be given directly to the schools by Ian Fantom the Treasurer of St Nicholas Church, to be distributed at their own discretion, and to fill food parcels that will be available to pick up from St Nicholas Church over the festive period.
Any remaining funds will be donated directly to Oasis Community Hub in Warndon.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic more people will find this Christmas very difficult, and we would like to do all we can locally to make sure no child goes hungry.
